Bahrein, officially the Kingdom of Bahrein, is a small Country located on an archipelago of 33 islands off the western coast of the Persian Gulf, with its capital in Manama. The official language is Arabic.
Bahrain,before an emirate, became a kingdom in 2002, as a constitutional monarchy. The country is ruled by the royal family, Al Khalifa, and the current king is Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, while the government is led by Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The country’s area is 750 km² and according to estimates from 2010, it has a population of 1,214,705 of which 235,108 are foreigners. Its territorial waters border those of Saudi Arabia to the West and Qatar to the South. The most important island is Bahrein, which, along with the island of Sitra and Muhrraq, forms the core of the archipelago.

Known for its oil and pearls, Bahrein is also home to many major structures including the Bahrein World Trade Center and the Bahrain Financial Harbour, where the Museum Tower (1,022 Meters) is planned to be built. The Bahrain Grand Prix takes place at the Bahrein International Circuit.
