Excursion Alofi, niue tour at Alofi

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Explore the capital city of one of the largest raise coral atolls in the Pacific, Niue, or "The Rock" as it is known to its inhabitants. With a population of just over 600 people, Niue's humble capital, Alofi, is home to much of the island nation's industry, its government and the only bank in the country.

The area around Alofi is marked by steep limestone cliffs, coastal caves and the beautiful Alofi Bay. 2004's Cyclone Hete caused extensive damage to the southern half of the city, but essential services such as the hospital and government buildings have since been rebuilt in more protected locations.

Enjoy a half day of exploring this tiny city and beautiful coast. Take a tour with stops at points of historical and scenic interest, including opportunities for snorkeling, exploring limestone caves, and swimming in Niue's crystal-clear water.
