Mantova

Mantova

Mantua, is a beautiful Renaissance city south of Lake Garda in the Lombardy region.
The lakes on three sides keep the city center compact and make it a pleasant place to walk or cycle.
Mantua was the Italian capital of culture for 2016 and is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Italy,
listed for its Renaissance architecture and urban planning.

The Ducal Palace was the residence of the Gonzaga family, a complex of 500 buildings that included a castle,
a basilica, courtyards and gardens. Palazzo Te is a Renaissance-style palace built by the Duke of Mantua, Federico II Gonzaga.
It now houses the Civic Museum which highlights the history of Mantua.

The Cathedral has an eighteenth-century facade and houses splendid 1500s stuccoes by Giulio Romano.
The round brick chapel known as the Rotonda di San Lorenzo was originally built in 1083.
The Basilica of Sant'Andrea was designed by the Renaissance architect Alberti but includes a baroque dome.

The elegant Piazza Sordello is the living room of the city, surrounded by churches and palaces and Renaissance porticoes.
Piazza dell'Erbe is located in the heart of the city's commercial center.
the Palazzo della Ragione with its astronomical clock tower from the fifteenth century.

Rovigo

Chioggia

Chioggia

Located in the province of Venice, Chioggia is populated by just over 51,000 inhabitants and was recently declared the Venetian city of art. This town immersed in the sea, between lively canals, is considered a small Venice. A wonderful historical city with charming beaches, Chioggia is a true jewel of the Venetian lagoon.

Walking through the narrow streets you will enjoy the charm and elegance that the city gives: Venetian-style palaces overlooking the canals, characteristic boats with particular colored sails, churches, museums and monuments. It will almost seem like going back centuries, to the time of the Doges of Venice.
One of the characteristics of Chioggia is the location of the Marine Biology studies, at the University of Padua and the Adriatic zoology museum. On the island you can also find numerous monuments, such as the church of Sant'Andrea, built in the eighteenth century and the Roman tower (or ancient clock tower), about thirty meters high, designed by Giovanni Dondi. Ponte Vigo, built in 1685, differs from the others for its suggestive grandeur. The historic center rises at the end of the Venetian lagoon.
The Museo di San Francesco, which is located in the church of the same name, preserves old files that reveal the historical passages of the island, documenting the historical, environmental and social development of the territory.

Chioggia is a coastal island located in northern Italy in the province of Venice. An original city, its narrow streets and all perpendicular to the square, suggest a fishbone image. For this peculiarity, it is attributed the nickname of "Little Venice". Its main economic source is fishing. Other important economic resources are also tourism and the production of roses and radicchio.
