5 most confiscated items on a cruise

Have you already booked a cruise? And you can't wait to get on board and start taking advantage of your unlimited beverage package? However, before stepping onto the ship, it is better to make a list of all the items you must not pack for a departure hassle-free boarding. There are a bunch of guests who find themselves waiting for their luggage for hours before departure just because they have tried to bring items that are not allowed onto the ship.

Read this article and you will find out the 5 items that are most often confiscated at boarding and, if you want to avoid unwelcome surprises, take your notes!

Iron: Firstly, who does want ironing on a cruise? Even a small distraction could start a fire, it’s very dangerous. You can offer a service and in this case your dress will be ironed and you will look definitely gorgeous.

Alcohol: If you are thinking about taking a small personal bar in your cabin, you should think again. Cruise lines have strict policies on alcohol to ensure everyone’s safety. The bottles you have hardly hidden in your luggage will be confiscated and then they will give your bottles back only on the day of disembarkation. It is better to take advantage of unlimited beverage packages offered on board.

Extension cables: they might seem harmless, but extension cables are considered dangerous. Ship cabins have enough outlets to charge all your devices. If you really want to have them with you, check if the cruise line offers alternative solutions.

Candles: Romantics, I feel sorry for you, but candles with their open flames are definitely prohibited. Fire risk is too high. If you want to create a special atmosphere, it is better to choose LED lights which are safe and approved, by the way, they are on sale in the ship’s stores!

Swiss knives/knives: Are you going to improvise as a chef? Swiss knives and any kind of knife are banned for obvious safety reasons. You don't want to risk finding yourself arguing with security over your beloved pocket knife. Leave them at home; they would only gather dust on board!

So, check your suitcases out and make sure you don't have any of these forbidden items. Enjoy your cruise and have fun!
